Pain management requires specific knowledge and skills, either in acute and chronic conditions.
Several medical specialties are specifically involved in pain management: anesthesiologists, neurologists, rheumatologists but their training is not specifically focused on pain management and there is a need for a more specific educational program.
The mission is
To enable all physicians to manage pain patients, either in acute and chronic pain conditions.
To help physicians to develop pain centers and multidisciplinary approaches
To help physicians to establish better communications between primary and secondary care physicians in the difficult management of chronic pain
To lurn the new techniques of interventional pain especially under ultrasound guidance instead of fluoroscopy
All the program will be in accordance with current international and the recommendations on pain management by the French Society of Pain (SFETD), as well as recent French High Authority of Health (HAS) consensus statement on the chronic pain patients flow. This will be adapted to create an educational postgraduate training program for the physicians of UAE and the region in pain medicine.
Specifications, developed by the societies of pain, specify the required knowledge and skills and the criteria defining a training center.
For this diploma there is a unique collaboration between team from Europe Middle east and Asia
The physicians, fellows and residents who have followed the courses and validated the clinical practice will be able to pass the written examination of the Diploma of Pain Management of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Montpellier France.
This educational program will be based on the current guidelines and programs from International societies of pain medicine for pain management training.
